Raudnitzer Altar

The iconography of the triptych from Roudnice is rather complex. On the central panel is a grandiosely composed scene with the Death of the Virgin Mary; the side panels represent two apparitions of Christ (Christ Victorious with worshippers under his overcoat and the Man of Sorrows, depicted with the devices used for His torture, adored by the donor and his sons) and of the Virgin Mary (the Virgin Mary the Guardian and the Mother of Sorrows, adored by donor's wife and daughters).

Roudnický triptych má poměrně složitou ikonografii. Střed tvoří velkolepě komponovaná scéna smrti Panny Marie, na křídlech je představena dvojí podoba Krista (Kristus Vítězný, skrývající pod pláštěm věřící, a Kristus Trpitel, zobrazený s Nástroji umučení a adorovaný donátorem a jeho syny) a Panny Marie (Panna Maria Ochranitelka a Panna Maria Bolestná, adorovaná manželkou donátora a dcerami).
