The Dream of Saint Joseph

The sleeping Joseph visited by an angel who reveals to him the mystery of Christ's Incarnation. His future wife Mary (kneeling in the background) will bear a son while still a virgin and her child will be the son of God (Matthew 1: 20-21). The woodworking instruments at bottom left relate to Joseph's profession of carpentry.
