Belshazzar's Feast
At a lavish feast, the Babylonian king Belshazzar served wine in precious vessels that one of his predecessors had looted from the temple at Jerusalem (Daniel 5: 1-5; 25-28). A divine hand appeared and wrote in Hebrew: 'God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.' Belshazzar was killed that same night.
