The Virgin and Child with Four Angels
The Virgin and Child enthroned, tenderly contemplate each other. Four angels minister to them. These Maestà (Italian for majesty) compositions originally appeared in monumental altarpieces. Hinge marks suggest it may have been joined to another panel.
