Saint Sabinus before the Roman Governor of Tuscany
Venustianus, the Roman Governor of Tuscany, tries to persuade Sabinus, a patron saint of Siena, to worship a pagan statue. The idol represents Venus and may be a pun on the governor's name. The panel possibly formed part of an altarpiece for Siena Cathedral.
