Portrait of Fra Teodoro of Urbino as Saint Dominic

The picture was made primarily to record the features of Brother Teodoro of Urbino. As a Dominican friar, he would have identified himself with the founder of his Order, Saint Dominic. Brother Teodoro is known to have been in Venice in December 1514, and therefore the date and the inscription are probably original.
