The Adoration of the Kings
This nocturnal depiction of the Three Kings honouring the new-born Jesus reveals the flickering brushwork for which Dosso is noted. The huge moon with a pink aureole is traversed by inky clouds. It casts a mysterious light, picking out features of the fortified town in the background.
