Saenredam fertigte mehrere Zeichnungen und Gemälde dieser Kirche an und stellte sie stets mit geometrischer Reinheit dar. Der Künstler vermischt manchmal das Reale und das Imaginäre (wie hier das fiktive Grab eines Bischofs). Dieses Gemälde ist eines der frühesten Werke des Künstlers.

Saenredam made several drawings and paintings of this church, always depicting it with geometric purity. The artist sometimes mixes the real and the imaginary (such as the fictive tomb of a bishop here). This painting is one of the artist's earliest works.

L'artiste a représenté cette église dans de nombreux dessins et peintures. L'édifice religieux y apparaît toujours dans une pureté géométrique. Saenredam mêle parfois topographie et imagination (comme ici avec la tombe fictive d'un évêque). Le tableau du Louvre est l'un des premiers du peintre.
