Portrait of Vincenzo Morosini
Like many of Tintoretto's official portraits of high-ranking Venetians, this records both the sitter's power and physical frailty. Morosini's rich brocades and ermine are testament to the many high offices he held in Venice and its provinces; the gold stole over his shoulder is an insignia of a Venetian order of knighthood.
