Apollo killing the Cyclops
Apollo shoots arrows at the Cyclops, a mythical race of one-eyed giants, as revenge for them having provided Zeus with the thunderbolts that killed his son. In the corner stands a dwarf in chains, creating the illusion that the painting is a tapestry. He was a member of Cardinal Aldobrandini's household and Domenichino was ordered to paint him in this derisive fashion as punishment for his impertinence.
