Lord John Stuart and his Brother, Lord Bernard Stuart

These elegant young men are Lord John Stuart (1621-1644) and Lord Bernard Stuart (1622-1645), later Earl of

Lichfield, the two younger sons of the 3rd Duke of Lennox. The brothers were cousins of Charles I, and wards of the king since their father died in 1624. They were both royalists, killed during the Civil War.
