Portrait of a Man (Jean-Baptiste Rousseau?)
The man's glowing pale skin is enveloped by a flowing blue-green velvet cloak. Luxurious gold embroidery and tassels in the cloak lining accentuate the sitter's wealth. Largillierre was well known for his ostentatious portraits of French aristocracy. It is argued that this might be a portrait of the French poet Jean-Baptiste Rousseau.
