Portrait of a Girl
The girl's identity and age are unknown. To judge by her dress and jewels she comes from a wealthy family who could afford to have her painted by the most fashionable portrait painter of the period. A 19th-century inscription on the back identifies her as from the Braganza family, who were related to Portuguese royalty, but this cannot be confirmed.
