Still Life with Drinking-Horn

Strong colours and varied textures create a sumptuous display. The ceremonial drinking-horn, made from a single buffalo horn, belonged to the Amsterdam Archer's Guild. The silver mount is a tree trunk to which Saint Sebastian, patron saint of archers, is bound. The lion on top holds a shield with the arms of Amsterdam.
