The Huis ten Bosch at The Hague
The Huis ten Bosch (House in the Wood) was built just outside The Hague in 1645-52 as a summer residence for Amalia van Solms, the widow of the Stadholder Prince Frederik Hendrik. The building is seen here in its original state; it has since been substantially altered. Today the palace serves as the private residence of the Dutch royal family.
