Saint Dorothy and the Infant Christ
The Christ Child appeared to Dorothy with roses and apples in a vision. Afterwards they were given to the Roman Theophilus who had scorned the saint's faith, and he was thereby converted. The fragile figures, exquisite tooling of the gold ground and the painting of some of the drapery are characteristic of Sienese painting.
