The Dead Christ supported by Two Angels

This panel was once the central part of the upper tier of an altarpiece. Its rare original varnish has preserved it well. Crivelli studied with Mantegna and Schiavone in Padua and would have been inspired by Donatello's relief sculpture of the same theme on the high altar of the Basilica of Saint Anthony.
