A Dominican, with the Attributes of Saint Peter Martyr
Peter Martyr was a Dominican friar, murdered in a wood in 1252, as shown in the painting nearby. The saint's attributes of the palm, sword and knife were added at a later date to a portrait of an unidentified friar. The label on the parapet contains the artist's signature.
