The Mystic Marriage of Saint Catherine

Saint Catherine had a vision in which she exchanged rings with the Christ Child in a mystical ceremony. The scene takes place in a walled garden, a reference to the virginity of Christ's mother Mary. Saint Joseph appears in the left background; the female saint reading in the right foreground is probably Mary Magdalene.
