Saint John on Patmos
Saint John is shown recording his Revelations on the Greek island of Patmos, depicted as an idyllic landscape. Beside him is his symbol, the eagle. The picture may have formed part of an altarpiece. The painter was probably from Alsace or south-west Germany.
