Diptychon des Jean Carondelet

Jean Carondelet (1469–1544) war Dekan der Kathedrale von Besançon. Der linke Flügel trägt sein Porträt, auf der Rückseite sein Wappen und Motto. Der rechte Flügel zeigt die Jungfrau Maria mit dem Christkind und auf der Rückseite einen Totenkopf in Trompe-l'oeil-Optik.

Jean Carondelet (1469-1544) was the dean of the cathedral of Besançon. The left wing bears his portrait, with his coat of arms and motto on the reverse side. The right wing shows the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child, and a skull in trompe l'oeil on the reverse.

Jean Carondelet (1469-1544) était le doyen de la cathédrale de Besançon. Le volet gauche figure son portrait, ainsi que son blason et sa devise au revers. Le volet droit représente la Vierge Marie tenant dans ses bras l'Enfant Jésus, avec, au revers, une tête de mort en trompe-l'œil.
