Kreuzigung

Christus ist am Kreuz zwischen den beiden Räubern dargestellt, deren Gewänder vermutlich denen der Gefangenen und Büßer im 14. Jahrhundert entsprechen. Zu einem unbekannten Zeitpunkt wurde der ursprüngliche Goldhintergrund durch eine Landschaft vor einem Himmel ersetzt. Die Idee zu diesem Gemälde kam Giotto möglicherweise während seines Aufenthalts in Neapel (1328–1332).

Christ is depicted on the Cross between the two thieves, whose garments are probably those worn by prisoners and penitents in the 14th century. At an unknown date, the original gold background was replaced by a landscape against a sky. Giotto may have had the idea for this painting during his stay in Naples (1328-1332).

Jésus-Christ est représenté crucifié entre les deux larrons, vêtus sans doute du costume porté par les prisonniers et repentants du 14° siècle. À une date inconnue, un paysage et un fond de ciel ont remplacé le fond d'or original. L'œuvre pourrait avoir été conçue par Giotto lors de son séjour à Naples (1328-1332).
