The Return from the Hunt

Elegant men and women enjoy the sunshine. One man shows his companion a falcon, while other hunting animals - hounds and horses - rest. The pile of dead game in the foreground is evidence of a successful hunt. When this scene was painted, the clothes were already old-fashioned and falconry was no longer a popular sport.
