The Adoration of the Shepherds

Women and children give this scene of the shepherds' visit to the infant Jesus a quiet domesticity (Luke 2:16). The lantern that guided their journey dims in comparison to the divine light emanating from the Christ Child. Although inspired by a larger work by Rembrandt, this was painted by a pupil.
