The book of Genesis (29: 21-26) relates that Jacob worked as a herdsman for Laban for seven years, in order to marry his daughter Rachel. However, Laban had tricked Jacob by substituting his elder daughter Leah for Rachel. The picture shows the moment when Jacob realises the deceit and berates Laban. The woman on the left is probably Rachel.
