Es könnte sich um den Maler Giulio Romano handeln, es wurden aber auch andere Namen vorgeschlagen: Branconio dell'Aquila (der Testamentsvollstrecker Raffaels), Pietro Aretino und Antonio da Sangallo der Jüngere.
