The Building of the Trojan Horse
Virgil's Aeneid recounts that the Greeks built a wooden horse in order to penetrate the enemy city of Troy. Soldiers hid inside it and the Trojans, thinking it a peace offering, unwittingly took it into their city. This is a sketch for a much larger painting.
