The Infant Saint John with the Lamb

Saint John the Baptist embraces a lamb, the symbol of Christ. The scroll bears the inscription, 'Behold the Lamb of God' (John 1: 29). The painting was made to decorate an altar outside the church of Santa María la Blanca in Seville to mark the church's inauguration in 1665.
