The Virgin and Child with an Angel, the Archangel Raphael with Tobias and the Archangel Michael

These three panels are fragments of an altarpiece painted for a side-chapel of the Charterhouse at Pavia.

Only a small part of Satan is visible beneath the feet of the Archangel Michael who, as captain of the heavenly hosts, overthrew him. In the other side panel, the dog that accompanied Tobias and the Archangel Raphael on their journey has been cut.
