Saints Matthew, Catherine of Alexandria and John the Evangelist

Saint Catherine is depicted with the wheel on which she was tortured and the sword by which she was martyred. Saints Matthew and John are shown with their symbols, an angel and an eagle respectively.

This is the left-hand shutter of a small altarpiece. On the damaged reverse are saints Jerome, Cordula(?) and Gregory the Great, with a donor bearing the Maltese cross of the Order of the Knights of St John of Jerusalem.
