Die im 19. Jahrhundert abgebrochene Abteikirche Münsterschwarzach bei Würzburg war der erste bedeutende Sakralbau des großen süddeutschen Barockarchitekten Balthasar Neumann (1687-1753). Bei dem vorbereitenden Modell ist nicht nur der Außenbau, sondern auch die Gliederung des Innenraums bis ins Detail ausgeführt. Die Fassade lässt sich als Ganzes abnehmen und das Mittelschiff längs in zwei Hälften teilen.
Razed to the ground in the 19th century, the abbey church in Münsterschwarzach near to Würzburg was the first important sacred structure to be built by the great southern German baroque architect Balthasar Neumann (1687-1753). This model not only shows the exterior construction but also the organisation of the interior down to the smallest of details. The façade can be removed entirely and the nave can be split in half lengthways.
